What will the role look like?
The Financial Cost Analyst will support the financial planning, analysis and reporting functions of the company to provide understanding of trends and issues in order to support improved decision making and support economic performance. The position will require a focus on identifying cost drivers, assessing cost performance over time and relative to budgets and plans, analyzing expenses, and supporting efforts to improve profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes the following:
- Provide and Support weekly rolling cashflow forecast, financial planning and forecasts processes
- Provide financial information and insights via reports / presentations to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, market information, and other outside data and trends
- Analyze current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations on profit enhancement
- Support financial data interpretation to recognize changing trends, patterns, and their meaning related to key performance indicators
- Assist in the development of process improvements for more efficient and accurate key performance, financial, and operational reporting
- Assess and analyze costs to provide financial understanding for management decision support, including new products, product line assessments, and value-added resource use
- Develop and Analyze standard costs and other cost accounting
- Support monthly close and ongoing tax processes
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Supports accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Support Capital Asset Management approval procedures, ensuring proper control and documentation
- Resolve any discrepancies or irregularities found in records, statements, or transactions
- Other analysis and support for business operations as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Extensive Knowledge in Microsoft Excel (Lookups, Pivot Tables, Macros, and Formulas)
- Experience in manufacturing and ERP systems, Epicor ERP preferred
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries
- Understanding of General Ledger, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Inventory Control, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Demonstrated ability for problem solving and overcoming obstacles
- Desire to add value to both internal customers and coworkers by fostering teamwork and addressing conflict appropriately
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
