The Payroll and HRIS Specialist is responsible for managing and administering several HR related tasks including detailed payroll administration, HRIS management, employee reward and recognition program execution and support of general employee engagement tasks. This role will support the overall goals of the Human Resources department to align with the company direction and mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer, maintain, and analyze the Time and Attendance system to retrieve hours worked. Work alongside employees and staffing agency leaders to correct missed punches, retrieve signatures, review accuracy, and correct discrepancies.
- Compile, maintain and post payroll data such as hours, pay adjustments, per period changes, garnishments, accruals, insurance and 401(k) into payroll systems (US, Canada and Hong Kong).
- Administer, maintain, and analyze the HRIS system to process payroll. Review for accuracy, minimize anomalies and correct discrepancies.
- Ensure the accuracy of systems Paylocity, Ceridian, ADP and calculations of all processes by performing ongoing audit checks.
- Manage payroll data such as garnishments, PTO time, and all benefit deductions to be compliant.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Detailed processing of merit and bonus program within Paylocity.
- Be the champion of our HRIS system including Novatime, Ceridian Powerpay Plus, ADP HK, and Paylocity.
- Support the onboarding and new hire processes of our Hong Kong Entity and Canadian office.
- Support the employee relations function through stay interviews and creating feedback loops.
- Manage employee recognition programs, including tenure, company swag and special occasions.
- Manage employee files and recordkeeping with integrity and confidentiality.
- Support operations in safety compliance.
- Oversee terminations including exit interviews, severance payments, communications and equipment retrieval.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required
- 3+ years of experience in HR generalist function or payroll capacity.
- Familiarity with payroll programs and processing.
- Experience with managing projects in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in the trading card, retail distribution, or category management industry a plus.
