Plant Controller

Purpose

Provides financial analytics that drive business results in support of the short-term and long-term value of the assets, liabilities and investments of the plant. Delivers analysis as part of the finance processes, linking financial results to operational performance drivers, while providing valuable decision support analysis and driving business success.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting business transactions
• Establishes, modifies documents and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
• Works closely with mill management to optimize business decisions
• Prepares Annual Plan and other business cycle forecasts
• Models company core values

Required Qualifications:

• BS or BA degree in Accounting
• Two to five years of experience
• Experience with costing models and margin analysis
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, theory and practice
• Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office with capability of advanced Excel
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Self-starter with a high degree of individual initiative
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Wood products experience or CPA
• Oracle JDE experience
