Based on the current trends in the market, 2017 is shaping up to be the best job market we have seen in years, especially for qualified job seekers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 2017 outlook for new positions is particularly strong for mid- to senior-level qualified workers with the right skills who are willing to relocate for these opportunities.
Some of the top industries showing the most job growth include Healthcare, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology Administration, Software Development, Cyber Security, Green & Sustainable Building Construction (Architectural, Engineering, Construction), Corporate Health and Wellness, Translation Services, and Digital Forensics. Additional opportunities in Manufacturing and Infrastructure also look promising.
Companies need to be prepared to have a streamlined hiring process that moves the best candidates efficiently and effectively towards an offer. We have a saying in our office that “time kills all deals” and delaying the hiring process too long allows for too many other factors and other job opportunities to creep into the companies’ hiring process. Companies who are not able to move quickly through the hiring process will lose the best candidates to their competition.
